aunts is
a gathering.
an artist-run platform for performance, experimentation, study, and collective life.
since 2005, AUNTS has created spaces for artists to take risks, try things out, build relationships, and imagine new ways of being together through performance.
we make performances, parties, classes, festivals, salons, workshops, conversations, and gatherings where choreography expands beyond the stage and community becomes part of the experience itself.
AUNTS believes that art can happen anywhere:
on the block, in theaters, living rooms, studios, parks, beaches, basements, online, around dinner tables, and on dance floors.
our work supports artists in developing process, testing ideas, building structures of care, and cultivating meaningful exchange across disciplines, generations, and geographies.
recently, AUNTS was honored at the 2024 Movement Research Gala, presented the 2025 AUNTS Festival at Danspace Project as part of their Offseason Rental series, hosted ClassClassClass at The Annex in Fort Greene, and received support from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, the Brooklyn Arts Council, and Ruth Arts through the 2026 Artist Choice program.
AUNTS is ever-evolving and always listening for what’s needed now:
a little joy,
a little movement,
something shared,
something new.
